Senior Field Service Technician - Industrial Automation Systems

Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Field Service Technician to join their dynamic team. This position is field-based and requires extensive travel to customer sites within the Denver, Colorado, US region and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced industrial automation systems. This role demands a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate has a proven background in industrial maintenance or field service, with a deep understanding of automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, commission, and service industrial automation equipment at customer sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventive care on machinery.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues with automated systems.
  • Respond promptly to customer service calls and provide on-site support.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Provide technical training and support to customer personnel.
  • Document service activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and time spent.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and build strong working relationships.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to provide feedback on product performance and customer needs.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or trade certification in Industrial Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, or a similar technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems, PLCs, VFDs, robotics, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites within the Denver, Colorado, US area and beyond.
