Remote Senior Industrial Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing

Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing, is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Senior Industrial Engineer to join their fully remote team. This position is crucial for driving operational excellence, optimizing production processes, and enhancing overall manufacturing efficiency across multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles, process improvement methodologies, and advanced data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement using lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing optimized production layouts, workflows, and material handling systems to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Utilizing data analysis tools and techniques to track key performance indicators (KPIs), identify trends, and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Collaborating with production teams, quality control, and management to implement process changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Leading and facilitating Kaizen events and other continuous improvement projects.
  • Evaluating and recommending new technologies and equipment to improve manufacturing operations.
  • Developing time and motion studies to establish accurate production standards and labor requirements.
  • Conducting ergonomic assessments and implementing solutions to improve workplace safety and employee well-being.
  • Providing training and mentorship to junior industrial engineers and manufacturing personnel.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on manufacturing environments.
  • Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus), and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for layout design and simulation tools for process modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, essential for remote teamwork.
  • Experience in optimizing supply chain and logistics within a manufacturing context is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver results in a remote setting.
