Director of Advanced Manufacturing - Remote

Job Description

Our client is looking for an innovative and experienced Director of Advanced Manufacturing to lead their cutting-edge manufacturing initiatives on a fully remote basis. This senior leadership position will be instrumental in defining and executing the company's strategy for adopting and scaling advanced manufacturing technologies, including Industry 4.0 principles, automation, additive manufacturing (3D printing), and smart factory concepts. You will be responsible for identifying emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact and feasibility, and developing business cases for their implementation. Key duties include collaborating with R&D, engineering, and operations teams across different sites to drive innovation, overseeing pilot projects, and managing the successful transition of new technologies into full-scale production. The Director will also focus on developing talent, building high-performing remote teams, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technological advancement. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in manufacturing operations, supply chain management, and a deep understanding of advanced manufacturing technologies and methodologies. A proven track record of successfully implementing innovative manufacturing solutions and achieving significant improvements in efficiency, quality, and cost is required. A Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is a must; a Master's degree or PhD is a plus. Extensive leadership experience, ideally in a remote or distributed team environment, is crucial. Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary to influence stakeholders at all levels and articulate a clear vision for the future of manufacturing.
