Remote Automation Engineer - Industrial Processes

Our client, a global leader in advanced manufacturing solutions, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Automation Engineer to join their dynamic engineering team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere within the US. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, implementing, and troubleshooting automated systems and processes for our clients' manufacturing facilities. Responsibilities include specifying automation hardware and software, developing PLC and HMI programming, creating SCADA systems, and ensuring seamless integration of various automated components. You will conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. This role requires a deep understanding of industrial automation technologies, including robotics, vision systems, motion control, and data acquisition. You will work closely with on-site client teams (virtually) to understand their operational needs, provide technical support, and deliver robust automation solutions. Collaboration with internal engineering departments to drive innovation and best practices will also be a key aspect of your role. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation engineering, with a proven track record in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens), HMI/SCADA development, and VFD/motion control is required. Experience with robotic programming and system integration is highly desirable. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage remote collaborations. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in automation and control systems is expected. The ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality results in a remote setting is crucial for success in this role.
