Our client, a prominent name in the arts and entertainment sector, is seeking an accomplished Lead Audio Engineer specializing in Post-Production to join their creative team in Washington, D.C., US . This hybrid role is critical for ensuring the highest quality audio output for a variety of projects, including film, television, podcasts, and interactive media. You will oversee all aspects of the audio post-production process, from dialogue editing and sound design to mixing and mastering. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical proficiency in industry-standard audio software, a keen artistic sensibility, and strong leadership skills. You will mentor junior engineers, manage audio assets, and collaborate closely with directors, producers, and editors to achieve the desired sonic vision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the audio post-production workflow for various creative projects.
  • Perform advanced dialogue editing, noise reduction, and ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement).
  • Create immersive soundscapes through creative sound design and foley recording.
  • Mix audio elements to create balanced and impactful soundtracks for different platforms (stereo, 5.1, Dolby Atmos).
  • Master audio to meet broadcast standards and distribution requirements.
  • Operate and maintain state-of-the-art audio recording and mixing equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with directors, producers, editors, and composers to realize the project's audio goals.
  • Manage audio asset libraries and ensure efficient workflow organization.
  • Troubleshoot technical audio issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Mentor and guide junior audio engineers, fostering their technical and creative growth.
  • Stay updated on the latest audio technologies, techniques, and industry trends.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, Film, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in audio post-production, with a focus on sound mixing and design.
  • Expert proficiency with Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, or similar DAWs.
  • Strong understanding of acoustics, signal flow, and audio processing techniques.
  • Experience with surround sound mixing (5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos) and mastering.
  • Excellent ear for detail, critical listening skills, and a strong sense of sonic aesthetics.
  • Proven leadership and project management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site studio work with remote tasks.
