We are seeking a highly experienced and self-sufficient Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our fully remote operational support team. While the role is remote, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating maintenance activities across various physical locations, liaising with on-site teams, vendors, and contractors. Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities across multiple company sites, ensuring operational efficiency and safety.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers, ensuring work is completed to specifications, on time, and within budget.
- Conduct remote assessments of facility conditions through video calls, photographic evidence, and reports from on-site personnel.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues remotely, providing guidance to on-site maintenance staff or contractors.
- Review and approve maintenance work orders, service reports, and invoices.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and repair history using facility management software.
- Participate in budget planning for maintenance and capital improvement projects.
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for facility maintenance tasks.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate immediate response efforts, even when off-site.
- Continuously identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings in maintenance operations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to on-site facility teams.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and best practices in facility management and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering Technology, or a related trade, or equivalent extensive practical experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of comprehensive experience in facilities maintenance and management, preferably in a multi-site environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) or other facility management software.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
- Exceptional organizational and project management abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage remote teams and external vendors.
- Experience in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
- Understanding of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA) and environmental compliance.
- Proficiency in using remote communication and collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Slack, Microsoft Teams).
- Willingness to travel occasionally to physical sites for critical inspections or oversight if required.
