Our client, a national property management firm, is seeking a skilled and proactive Remote Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their expanding operations. This is a fully remote position, requiring you to manage maintenance requests and coordinate repairs for properties across various regions from your home office. You will be the central point of contact for tenants and on-site property managers, diagnosing reported issues and dispatching appropriate service providers. Your responsibilities will include receiving, logging, and prioritizing maintenance requests via a digital platform, assessing the urgency and nature of reported problems, and coordinating with a network of licensed and insured contractors for timely repairs. This involves scheduling appointments, obtaining quotes, and overseeing the quality of work performed. You will also be responsible for proactive maintenance planning, identifying potential issues before they escalate, and coordinating preventative measures. A key aspect of this role is ensuring compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and client standards. You will manage maintenance budgets for assigned properties, approve invoices, and track expenditures. Strong technical aptitude is essential, allowing you to effectively communicate the scope of work to technicians and understand the diagnostics of various building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural). Excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage a remote workflow efficiently are crucial. - Communicate effectively with tenants, property managers, and vendors via phone, email, and digital platforms.
- Identify potential facility issues and proactively recommend solutions.
- Utilize property management software for request tracking and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, property management, or a related technical field.
- Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with property management software and digital collaboration tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage remote relationships.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve issues remotely.
- Experience in coordinating with third-party vendors and contractors.
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
- High school diploma or GED required; trade certifications are a plus.
