HVAC Installation and Maintenance Technician (Remote)

Our client, a national leader in property management and maintenance solutions, is actively seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Installation and Maintenance Technician to join their fully remote operations team. This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional who can provide expert remote technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance for HVAC systems across various properties. You will play a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency and longevity of HVAC equipment through remote diagnostics and proactive maintenance strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Provide remote technical support and diagnostic assistance for HVAC systems to on-site maintenance teams.
• Guide field technicians through troubleshooting procedures for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
• Review and interpret HVAC system schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to provide clear instructions.
• Assist in the diagnosis of complex HVAC issues, including mechanical, electrical, and control system problems.
• Develop and recommend preventative maintenance schedules and strategies to optimize HVAC performance and minimize downtime.
• Evaluate technical reports submitted by field technicians and provide feedback and recommendations.
• Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in HVAC systems.
• Contribute to the development of training materials and best practice guides for HVAC maintenance.
• Assist in the procurement process for HVAC parts and equipment by providing technical specifications.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of remote support interactions, diagnoses, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with property managers and facility engineers to address recurring HVAC issues.
• Identify opportunities for system upgrades or energy efficiency improvements.
• Ensure all guidance provided adheres to safety standards and best practices.
• Respond promptly to urgent support requests to minimize service disruptions.
• Participate in virtual team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of remote support processes.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or vocational training in HVAC, electrical engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience as an HVAC installation and maintenance technician.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of HVAC systems (e.g., split systems, VRF, chillers, boilers).
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and control systems related to HVAC.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts remotely.
• Proficient in using remote communication and diagnostic tools.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Must possess a reliable internet connection and a suitable home office environment.
• EPA Universal Certification is required.
• Experience with building automation systems (BAS) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
