Job Description

Our client is looking for a dedicated and skilled Remote HVAC Installation and Maintenance Technician to join their growing team. This is a fully remote position, requiring you to work from your home office. You will be responsible for providing expert technical support and guidance to field technicians and clients across the nation, troubleshooting complex HVAC system issues, and ensuring the optimal performance and longevity of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The role involves remote diagnostics, providing detailed repair instructions, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our installation and maintenance protocols.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide remote technical assistance and troubleshooting for HVAC systems, including residential and commercial units.
  • Diagnose system failures and guide field technicians through repair procedures via phone, video calls, and detailed written instructions.
  • Review installation plans and specifications to ensure adherence to best practices and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Analyze system performance data and recommend preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Develop and update technical documentation, repair manuals, and training materials for internal teams and external clients.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to provide feedback on system design and reliability.
  • Manage and maintain a remote technical support knowledge base.
  • Respond to critical service escalations and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Train junior technicians remotely on advanced diagnostic and repair techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of all service calls, resolutions, and client interactions.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an HVAC technician with a strong emphasis on diagnostics and repair.
  • EPA Universal Certification is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting HVAC schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with various types of HVAC systems (e.g., split systems, heat pumps, VRF, geothermal).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical individuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Comfortable using remote collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and ticketing systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Previous experience in a remote technical support or field service engineering role is a significant advantage.
